A Few Things I’m Especially Grateful For:

The freedom to enjoy quiet walks along wooded trails with my cats Orsino and Joules.

Carl Sagan.  Simply that.  That he lived and wrote the books he wrote.

My Kindle Paperwhite … which, while not really preferable to the experience of holding an actual book, has several advantages over conventionally bound paper and ink:  It allows me to carry lots and lots and lots of books in one comfortably compact device, gives me the ability to also stream my Audible books (which can actually sync with the Kindle editions if I want to go back and forth between reading and listening), and provides an altogether superior reading experience when I’m on the back deck swing or in bed at night.

Something You Wouldn’t Know But Could Probably Guess:

My Kindle has a black cover, and on this black cover is a black matte sticker with the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy logo and the comforting words DON’T PANIC.

Something I’ve Been Marveling at Lately:

How fast the past two decades have gone by.  Just … whoosh.

A Modern Approach to Living I Admire But Find Perfectly Hopeless:

Minimalism.  Much as I admire it — and I really do — I simply have too many cats, too many books.  And I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

What I’m Mostly Doing Now:

1.) Building out my plans for my main creative projects for the next three months.

2.) Organizing all of my camera gear and assorted photography stuff.  (Which is a lot of fun actually.)

3.) Studying stoicism (mostly Seneca), the philosophy of Objectivism, and the history of baseball.
